North York Central Library

The North York Central Library (NYCL) is located at 5120 Yonge Street and is a seven storey, 168,022 square foot facility which opened in 1987.  It provides service to the local community, and as one of two Research and Reference Libraries, provides in-depth research and reference services and collections to the entire city.  NYCL is the busiest branch in the Toronto Public Library based on the number of visits and circulation.  The library offers numerous programs for children  and adults including instruction in computer software and technology, exhibitions and events featuring high profile speakers.  The Library is undergoing an extensive 4-year renovation program, which started in July 2016.
